In 1996, when Tom Synhorst, Doug Goodyear and Tim Hyde founded DCI Group, they committed to building a results-oriented company that develops deep relationships with its clients and a culture that encourages teamwork and meaningful recognition for employees. With their roots in political campaigns and corporate consulting, they creatively applied their strategic success and issue expertise to communications and policy challenges in the corporate sector.
Even from the firm’s small, basement office in Washington, D.C., the view was clear: Industries and corporations were facing unprecedented policy and communications challenges. There needed to be a new approach.
DCI Group launched into this arena by providing grassroots strategy and execution with an emphasis on projects in the 50 states and on direct contact services, such as phone programs and direct mail. This initial effort laid the foundation for what has today grown into an unequalled, bipartisan nationwide network of public affairs professionals serving some of the largest companies in the world.
In 2001, the firm started a government affairs practice and soon thereafter invested significantly in growing its team of in-house communications and media relations experts. Since 2002, the firm has dramatically broadened the geography of its client work and to date has managed projects in North and South America, Europe, Asia, Australia and Africa. The result is a decade of experience and considerable issue depth on intellectual property, technology, global health, trade, financial services and energy.
Today DCI Group remains an independently-owned public affairs firm. Clients approach the firm for strategic guidance with their most important policy and communications challenges. DCI Group remains focused on delivering results and building deep relationships with its clients.
