Amanda Deatherage
Director

Amanda Deatherage serves as a Director at DCI Group and builds relationships with stakeholders on a wide range of issues on behalf of Fortune 50 clients.

Before joining DCI Group, Ms. Deatherage served as the Executive Director for International Competitiveness at International Advisory Services Group in Washington, D.C. In that capacity, she lobbied to increase U.S. citizen, business, and government awareness regarding the inadequacies of the U.S tax system to address international competitiveness issues, specifically the WTO’s distinction regarding the treatment of direct and indirect taxation (border adjustable taxes and currency manipulation). In 2006, Ms. Deatherage taught trade law and lobbying to the Indonesian Ministry of Trade under the Indonesian Trade Assistance Program sponsored by USAID. She drafted and presented a series of seminars on trade remedies under the WTO and lobbying.

Ms. Deatherage also served as an international trade lawyer for a boutique law firm in Washington. As a practicing attorney she handled antidumping and subsidy cases before the U.S. Department of Commerce’s ITA and ITC, the U.S. Court of International Trade and federal appeals courts. She has extensive knowledge in trade law (both WTO and U.S.) and lobbying issues as well as a working knowledge of international investment law.

Ms. Deatherage is a 2004 graduate of South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas where she served as the Editor-in-Chief of Currents, International Trade Law Journal. She earned her B.A., cum laude, in International Relations from Lynchburg College in Lynchburg, Virginia.
