DCI Group Attends Washington Tennis & Education Foundation

On the evening of Friday, May 20th several DCI employees including Stacey Chamberlin, Jon Comick, Jackie Puente, Scott Schmidt, Patrick Smith, Ewan Watt, and Jonathan Williams attended the Washington Tennis & Education Foundation (WTEF) Tennis Ball dinner and annual fundraiser. The event consisted of live and silent auctions followed by dinner and recognition of this year’s honoree, Congressman Fred Upton (R-MI).

The WTEF was founded in 1955 as an organization designed to help disadvantaged youth through tennis. Since then, it has evolved into an organization that provides academic help to at-risk children, helping them apply the lessons learned on the tennis court in the classroom and beyond. Today, WTEF is a leader in the best practice of providing academic enrichment, supplemented by tennis and life skills instruction, as a means for developing the skills necessary to achieve academic and personal success.

Patrick Pannett Deployed To Help With Disaster Relief for American Red Cross

People in more than half the country are seeking help from the American Red Cross as a record tornado season continues to devastate communities and serious flooding looms in parts of the Midwest. DCI’s Patrick Pannett was recently deployed to North Carolina with the Red Cross in the wake of a series of tornadoes as a member of the organization’s Advanced Public Affairs Team. In this role, Patrick works with first responders, governmental and NGOs, affected chapters, the national organization, social, national and local media to ensure the appropriate messaging and as needed crisis management is offered to all interested and affected parties.

In one particular case, the preparedness of Lowe’s employees kept customers and themselves safe when a tornado struck and destroyed the store in Sanford, North Carolina. Click on this link to see Patrick’s video from relief efforts on the ground: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zq3iXQIXbws
