Bloomgren rejoins DCI Group following leadership roles at the American Petroleum Institute (API) and in the federal government
Washington, DC – Longtime communications and public affairs executive Megan Bloomgren rejoins DCI Group this week as the firm’s growth continues. Bloomgren returns to the firm as a partner focused on building strategies for executives, winning public affairs campaigns, and advancing business development. Bloomgren previously worked at DCI Group from 2011 – 2016 before serving in the Trump Administration at the U.S. Department of the Interior and later as the senior vice president of communications at API.
“Megan has long been part of the DCI Group family and is well-versed in guiding companies and industries. We’re so happy to have her exceptional talent back on the DCI Group team and at the leadership table,” managing partner Justin Peterson said. “DCI has always been proud to represent America’s energy industry, and Megan will help us to continue to serve our clients and grow our presence in this vital sector and other highly regulated industries.”
Bloomgren served four U.S. Cabinet Secretaries in the past two decades helping progress critical energy, environmental and infrastructure policies. In addition to serving as a senior aide to Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke, Bloomgren held senior communications and advisory roles at the U.S. Department of Energy, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the White House Council on Environmental Quality. Bloomgren spent seven years at the American Petroleum Institute, the largest trade association representing America’s oil and natural gas industry, where she helped transform the association’s messaging, campaigns, and partnerships over her tenure. She crafted award-winning advertising and events; repositioned the industry’s media outreach and narrative; launched a new API brand story, visual identity and logo; and built and extended coalitions within and outside the industry.
“I’m excited to rejoin one of Washington’s most respected public affairs firms at a pivotal time for business leaders, industry associations and non-profits. I look forward to helping our clients successfully navigate high stakes issues with our hallmark vision, critical thinking, and seamless execution,” Bloomgren said. “I’m thrilled that DCI will also enable me to continue my commitment to mentorship. I’ve fortunately learned from some of Washington’s most respected leaders and I’m committed to helping support rising generations of talent.”
Based in Washington, DC, and with offices in Tallahassee and New York City, DCI Group is one of the largest independently owned public affairs firms in the world.
