Jon Kemp has built winning advocacy campaigns and organizations in some of the most challenging local, national and international settings, including rapid response operations, election campaigns and industry coalitions. Jon works with senior executives across a variety of sectors with emphasis on internet, telecommunications, music, energy and retail companies. Over the years, he has developed a specialization in helping coalitions of companies with divergent interests align priorities across policy, media, legal and business objectives.
Jon also has specialized experience winning more than a dozen ballot measure campaigns across the country. Prior to joining DCI in 2009, Jon was vice president at Winner & Mandabach Campaigns in California where he was a part of management team that went undefeated on five campaigns in five states in the 2008 election cycle.
Jon also served as Assistant Dean of the Pepperdine School of Public Policy where he led fundraising activities helping to raise more than $20 million. Additionally, he was founding director of the Davenport Institute, the school’s first local policy think tank. Jon is a graduate of Pepperdine University where he played water polo and has graduate degrees from University College London and the University of Virginia. He is a member of the Pepperdine School of Public Policy Board of Advisors.
