Jon Kemp provides counsel to corporate clients on issue management drawing on his experience in public policy, advertising, and opinion research. Jon has developed and led campaigns in some of the most challenging environments, in national, local, and international settings. He works with senior executives across a variety of sectors, with emphasis on Internet, telecommunications, energy, and retail companies.
Prior to joining DCI in 2009, Jon was Vice President at Winner & Mandabach Campaigns where he was responsible for the development and management of statewide ballot measure campaigns for corporate clients. He was a part of the management team that went undefeated on nine ballot measure campaigns in five states in the 2008 election cycle, winning 29 million votes.
Jon also served as Assistant Dean of the Pepperdine School of Public Policy where he led annual and capital fundraising activities helping to raise more than $20 million. He also was founding Director of the Davenport Institute for Public Policy. Prior to that, he worked on the legislative staff for a member of the House of Representatives from 1997 to 1999.
Jon is a graduate of Pepperdine University where he played water polo and has graduate degrees from University College London and the University of Virginia. He is a member of the Pepperdine School of Public Policy Board of Visitors. He lives in Bethesda, Maryland with his family.
