Paul Ryan is Partner at DCI Group where he advises clients on all aspects of corporate communications and public affairs strategy.
Paul specializes in internet and telecommunications policy issues where he has worked closely with senior industry executives for more than a decade to develop strategies and manage issue advocacy campaigns in Congress, the Federal Communications Commission, the Federal Trade Commission, and at the state and local levels. To support his clients in the technology sector, Paul maintains strong relationships with policy experts, research institutes, and think tanks.
Paul’s other area of focus is intellectual property where he has led DCI Group’s IP practice since its inception in 2011. In that time DCI Group has developed a skilled team that provides litigation support strategies around complex and high-profile cases and proceedings at the District, Federal, and Supreme Court levels, the International Trade Commission, and the European Commission.
Paul has also led national campaigns for DCI Group’s clients on a variety of business issues involving labor and tax issues. He has represented the Embassy of Japan to promote trade policy.
Prior to joining DCI Group in 2005, he worked on political campaigns at the national and state levels, and worked a writer and a research analyst for a national publishing company.
Paul earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame in Political Science and International Relations and a master’s degree from Northwestern University in Public Policy & Administration where he received the Distinguished Thesis Award. Paul lives in Arlington, Virginia with his wife, Rachel, and their three very active children, Connor, Matthew, and Elise. In his spare time, Paul enjoys traveling with his family, coaching youth sports and staying active in the community.
