Steve Norton serves DCI Group’s corporate and non-profit clients by providing exceptional, high-level written communication for a variety of platforms and audiences. Drawing on his diverse professional background that goes back decades, Steve brings a richly informed perspective and strategic insight to the craft of writing for a wide range of client needs.
Prior to joining DCI Group in 2014, Steve led communications activities at an international trade law firm and a small, cutting-edge technology and innovation policy think tank. He also served as speechwriter for U.S. Trade Representatives Rob Portman and Susan Schwab. Prior to that, he spent ten years as a reporter for must-read publications such as Congressional Quarterly and National Journal, covering international trade, tax policy and other issues.
Early in his career, Steve worked on several political campaigns and as an aide to U.S. Representatives Terry L. Bruce (D-IL) and Barbara B. Kennelly (D-CT).
Steve earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, in political science and a master’s degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. He lives on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., with his wife Alison Feighan and their two teenaged children.
