John Nelson

John Nelson is a Managing Director at DCI Group where he leads the firm’s strategic alliances team. Specializing in ally development, John leverages his close relationships with think tanks, advocacy organizations, and a host of issue-area experts to engage on a wide range of policy issues.

Over his tenure, John has directed third-party engagment around numerous domestic and international issues, including energy and telecommunications infrastructure development, trade and financial services regulatory disputes, transportation mergers, and provided strategic counsel for DCI Group’s litigation support practice.

Prior to joining DCI Group, John worked for a DC-based strategic communications and government affairs firm and led state engagement at the American Conservative Union. John got his start in D.C. interning for Congresswoman Renee Ellmers.

John is a native of Eastern North Carolina. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Campbell University. He currently resides in Arlington, Virginia with his wife, daughter, and cat.
